Bank Robber Captured in New York

On Monday, May 14, 2018 Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the Crescom Bank in Hope Mills in reference to a bank robbery. Upon the arrival of Officers, the suspect was gone from the area. On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, Hope Mills Police Investigators received an anonymous tip that identified the suspect as Timothy Carl Givens Jr, of the 4400 block of Dominion Drive, Fayetteville. On the morning of Wednesday, May, 16, 2018, Hope Mills Police Investigators, with the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Givens’ residence for the purpose of locating Givens and any evidence associated with the bank robbery. Givens was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed and Investigators later determined through another anonymous tip that Givens had fled the area and was possibly in en-route to New York. Givens was located in Greenburg NY and was taken into custody with the assistance of the FBI, US Marshals, and local Law Enforcement authorities. Givens will be extradited to NC at a later date where he will face Robbery and Kidnapping charges.
