On May 21, 2018 at approximately 12:30pm, an over-flow of sanitary sewer gray water was discovered. Saline DPW crews arrived on scene at the Woodland Drive sanitary lift station to investigate if the sanitary sewer gravity main and lift station pumps were working properly. It was determined that the gravity main and lift station pumps were working properly, but the 8-inch force main had ruptured. This rupture caused an undetermined amount of gray water to be discharged into the Wood Outlet Drain that flows into the Saline River. Crews are working to temporarily bypass the broken sanitary sewer main so the sewer main can be repaired and restored to normal service.
