CASE #: 18-119-158
SUSPECT: Brandon Edward Nichols Jr., 27-year-old Vallejo Resident
On April 29, 2018, after 9:00 P.M., a woman in Colorado called the Milpitas Police Department to report someone had fraudulently used her debit card information to reserve a room at Courtyard by Marriott on Falcon Drive in Milpitas. Officers learned the room was reserved under the name of Brandon Nichols, and they stopped him as he was coming out of an elevator on the second floor. When asked for identification, he presented an identification card in the name of someone else. As officers tried to arrest him, he ran down to the ground floor where an officer tackled him. During the struggle, Nichols grabbed an officer’s pistol holster, but the officers were able to subdue him and handcuff him. One of the officers sustained minor injuries from the scuffle. Officers searched Nichols and his hotel room, and they found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and personal information for several other people. Nichols was booked into the Santa Clara County main jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, presenting false identification to a peace officer, identify theft, debit card fraud, and a total of four (4) arrest warrants from Santa Clara County and Solano County.
