Press Release: NPD #2018-00013852 Active Shooter Investigation & Arrest (19900 Hague Road, Noblesville, IN 46062) 5.25.18
On May 25, 2018 at approximately 9:06 am, police officers from the Noblesville Police Department and surrounding agencies were dispatched to the Noblesville West Middle School (19900 Hague Road, Noblesville) if reference to a report of an active shooter in the building. Law enforcement officers from local, county, state and federal agencies responded to the call and were on the scene within minutes. A school resource officer from the Noblesville Police Department was on the premise and he immediately responded to the area where it was believed that the active shooter was located.
Officers located the alleged shooter and two victims in a classroom in the school. The alleged suspect was taken into custody and the victims were immediately treated for gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as a female student and a male teacher. The alleged male suspect was identified as a student.
The female student (identity withheld) was initially transported by ground ambulance to Riverview Heath (Noblesville, IN) before later being transported by air ambulance to Riley Children's Hospital (Indianapolis, IN). Her condition was listed as "critical" at the time of this release. The teacher, identified as Jason Seaman, 29, of Noblesville, was transported by ground ambulance to Methodist Hospital (Indianapolis, IN). His condition was described as “good” at the time of this release. There were no apparent injuries to the alleged shooter (identity withheld).
Investigators are continuing to process the scene, gather potential evidence and interview witnesses. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 (TIPS).
