In response to the heavy rain and flooding that is forecast for our region in the coming days in association with Tropical Storm Alberto, Lake Lure Town Council has authorized staff to begin lowering the lake between now and tonight to a total of 2 feet. Depending on updated forecast the need to lower the level by another 1/2 foot may be needed in the upcomming days. Please make all necessary preparations for your safety and your property and remember that depending on the intensity and direction of the storm that travel into and out of Rutherford, Polk, and Henderson counties could be impacted this week
