Pearl City Main Break 5:30 p.m. update
Mon., May 28, 2018, 5:30 p.m. — The Honolulu Board of Water Supply continues repair on an 8" cast iron main located at 1720 Hoohulu St. in Pearl City which is affecting approximately 20 homes and two fire hydrants. Affected customers are on one half-block of Hoohulu St., which is closed between Komo Mai Dr. and the Hooia St. intersection. A water wagon is located at 1998 Hoohulu St. for affected residents.
Water service to the nearby Waiau District Park and Waiau Fire Station is unaffected.
Crews shut off water to the affected areas at about 12:30 p.m. and a supervisor is at the site. Initially, a large number of homes was affected, but BWS crews were able to isolate the damaged section of pipe, localizing the outage to Hoohulu St.
Customers in the surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to conserve water until further notice. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
