Road closures in Bat Cave area (known):
1. Hwy64 both towards both Chimney Rock and Edneyville (Slides/trees/road damage); Roads flooded in Edneyville
2. Gerton Highway at Possum Hollow (Slide) and near Bearwallow Cemetery Road (Slide) in Gerton.
3. Middlefork Road (Large Slide) near Middlefork Baptist Church; numerous other slides partially or fully blocking road.
*** These are locations known at this time, there will be more locations that have not been discovered yet.
4. Stay at home, do not go out and drive or walk the roads; will advise on this Nixle(Bat Cave) as roads are opened.
5. Please encourage friends, neighbors, and relatives to sign up for Nixle messaging from Bat Cave Fire Department.
6. DOT crews and Duke energy crews are working through the night to clear and open roads.
