Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and South Carolina State Transport Police are investigating an 18 wheeler collision that occurred on Tuesday May 29, 2018 between 2130-2215 hours on Highway 56 four miles west of Chappells in Newberry County.
Coroner Laura Kneece, has identified the driver as 26 year old, Joby Lee Massey of Newport Tennessee. An autopsy has been ordered to determine cause of death.
This incident remains under investigation by Newberry County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol and South Carolina State Transport Police.
