Theft of Property Arrest 
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Wellington man has been arrested in connection to theft of property (firearm), according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“James William Payton, 46, of Wellington, is charged with one count of second degree theft of property and violent felon in possession of a firearm, both are felonies,” investigator Will Farley said.
Payton allegedly stole a Hi-Point 9 mm, Black Polymer firearm from a residence on Tidmore Bend Road. Investigator Farley, along with assistance from the Glencoe Police Department, located Payton and the stolen firearm.
Payton is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
