The D-Day plus 72 military tribute being held on June 2nd 2018 10:00am, at the Mart Dock involves a reenactment on board the USS LST 393. This event provides a living history in honor of military veterans. The event includes a flyover by (WWII) military aircraft, use of an air raid siren, the firing of two 40.calibre guns and one 50.calibre gun aboard the LST.
The Hooligan’s Flight Team will make several passes over the LST between the hours of 1:00pm to 2:30pm and the air raid siren will be activated. They will then sound the General Quarters warnings aboard the LST and the reenactors on the ship will fire the guns, using a Propane/Oxygen mixture to simulate live fire (loud noises). Muskegon Police Department will have staff in and around the area.
