On May 31, 2018, the Shorewood Police Department responded to two vehicle entries and one motor vehicle theft; all of which involved Jeep brand vehicles.
The first vehicle entry was reported at 1:45 am in the 1400 Block of E Elmdale Ct. Entry was made to the vehicle via force through a window.
The second vehicle entry was reported at 2:17 am in the 1300 Block of E Capitol Dr. Again, entry was made via force through a window in this incident.
The motor vehicle theft occurred sometime between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm in the 2100 Block of E Edgewood Ave. The vehicle was reported to have been locked at the time of the theft and was taken without keys.
We are encouraging residents to take extra precautions when leaving your vehicle unattended. Please make sure your vehicle is locked, and if you have an antitheft system or antitheft device (i.e. steering wheel lock, brake lock, etc.), please make sure it is activated or applied properly to the vehicle. Residents are also encouraged to report any activity they observe that they may feel is suspicious in nature.
