SUBJECT: ACPD Case #18-0415 / 36 Year Old Man Arrested for Stalking a Juvenile

On May 29, 2018 at approximately 6:45 PM, a 16 year old female juvenile parked her vehicle at the fuel pumps of a gas station located in the 1000 block of South Main Street in Angels Camp. Surveillance footage shows an unidentified male parking his vehicle behind the juvenile’s vehicle at the fuel pumps. The juvenile reported to officers that the unidentified male asked her to help him with a problem he was having (she couldn’t remember exactly what the problem was) and said something similar to needing to get to his parents’ house. The juvenile declined to provide any assistance to the unidentified male. After watching the juvenile pump fuel, the male eventually returned to his vehicle and left the area.
On June 3, 2018 at approximately 7:40 AM, the juvenile was driving her vehicle in the 200 block of South Main Street when she observed the same unidentified male pulling out of a parking lot. The male watched the juvenile as she drove by. The juvenile returned to her Angels Camp home, told her parents about seeing the unidentified male again, and that she didn’t believe that the male followed her home.
Later the same day, June 3, 2018 at approximately 10:45 AM, the father of the juvenile saw a male sitting in a vehicle matching the description of the unidentified male’s vehicle near their home. An Angels Camp Police Officer responded to the area as the male was attempting to leave the area and made a traffic stop of the vehicle for not having a front license plate.
The male was identified as 36 year old Pine Grove resident, Kevin Calhoun. Calhoun denied following the juvenile victim and requested an attorney. Calhoun was arrested and booked in to the Calaveras County for:
