On 06/04/2018 just after 9:30 pm, fugitive registered sex offender Mitchell Wayne Hephner surrendered himself to the Steuben County Jail without incident. Hephner had been wanted out of Steuben County since the beginning of April on an outstanding arrest warrant charging Hephner with 2 counts of felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender. Hephner was booked into the Steuben County Jail and remains held without bond pending an initial court appearance. The Sheriff’s Office thanks all those who assisted with providing tips and information.
