The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

June 4th

0753 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated an auto burglary on the 6100 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue. The loss was Xbox games and jewelry.

1247 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes recovered a cargo van that was reported stolen out of San Jose on the 4900 block of Winchester Place. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.

1414 Hours: Officer Smith investigated a battery that occurred near the intersection of Newark Boulevard at Cedar Boulevard by a known suspect. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for follow-up.

1928 Hours: Officer Riddles investigated a grab and run theft that occurred at Sears, NewPark Mall. The loss is numerous pairs of shoes.

2104 Hours: Officer Geser investigated an auto burglary on the 34800 block of Newark Boulevard. The loss is a suitcase containing an iPad, laptop computer and personal items.

2239 Hours: Officer Riddles investigated a hit and run collision that occurred near the intersection of Arrowhead Place at Crestmont Avenue.
