Multiple Incidents in Shorewood during the Morning of June 6, 2018
On June 6, 2018, at approximately 7:00 am, Shorewood Police Officers were dispatched to numerous entry to auto complaints that occurred sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 7: 15. The actors entered the locked vehicles through a window to gain entry to most of the vehicles. A witness observed a dark colored SUV fleeing the area upon arrival of the police squads in area of the 2400 East Menlo Blvd.
During the course of the entry to auto investigations, Shorewood Police squads were dispatched to a strong armed robbery. A purse was taken from the victim who was exiting their parked vehicle in the 4200 block of N. Olsen Ave. The actors fled in a dark colored SUV from the scene and officers observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle fleeing into the City of Milwaukee.
Officers pursued the vehicle until the driver and occupant abandoned the vehicle in the City of Milwaukee. Following a short foot pursuit, officers took both 16-year-old suspects into custody.
The incidents are actively being investigated and criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County DA's Office for charging. The juveniles are being held at the Milwaukee County Children's Center.
Thanks to the vigilance of our residents who reported these incidents as they were occurring, as well as the great work performed by officers from the Shorewood Police Department and Glendale Police Department, we were able to locate these suspects and take them into custody. We would like to encourage our residents to keep up the good work and to continue to report any activity that they may feel is suspicious in nature.
