Burglary arrest
On Thursday June 7, 2018 at 12:05pm Sgt. Simmons of the Bordentown City Police Department was on patrol in the area of Mary St and Pine St. when he observed a male subject that was wanted for numerous residential burglaries in the area. As Sgt. Simmons exited his patrol vehicle the subject provided Sgt. Simmons a false name then fled on foot in the wooded area between Mary St and Park St. Police set up a perimeter surrounding the area. After a lengthy foot pursuit Miguel Vargas, of Trenton NJ, was apprehended. Mr. Vargas was charged with numerous counts of Burglary and Theft and also Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest by Flight, Hindering Apprehension, Trespassing and Burglary tools. Bordentown City Police Department was assisted by Bordentown Township Police Department, Florence Township Police Department, Mansfield Township Police Department and the New Jersey Transit Police Department.
