Police are investigating three burglaries that occurred last Friday June 8th. Police officers responded to a Lafayette Dr, residence on the report of a burglary that had occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m that evening, when residents were out at dinner. While in route police received a call reporting the second burglary on the same street and subsequently officers discovered the third while canvassing the neighborhood. Access was gained to the homes by smashing the front doors. Bedrooms and bathroom were ransacked. Jeweler and cash were targeted. Police ask, that anyone with security cameras in that area please check your video footage for suspicious activity. We are asking residents to be extra vigilant between the hours of 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. when residents are out and burglars are active. Patrols have been redirected, focusing on anti-burglary activities during those times. Any person observing suspicious activity is asked to contact the police department at 973-239-4100 or 9-1-1. Residents are advised to lock and alarm their homes when away.
