Safe Parks Initiative-Kick Off Event

Today, at 1:00 PM the Green Bay Police Department is kicking off the 2018 Safe Parks Initiative. Community police officers and command staff will be walking foot beats, focusing on the parks in our community. Now that kids are out of school, we hope they are enjoying our wonderful parks. Today is designed for officers to be in the parks and establish a good working relationship with the parkees.

“Our parks are our focal points of our neighborhoods” said Police Chief Andrew Smith. “We want to ensure kids and residents enjoy our parks and have a safe summer. We want to take time today and make sure we are visible and engaged with the residents in our community” said Smith.

Officers will be at various parks throughout the city. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing you in the park. Please contact Capt. Warych for any media inquiries.
