HMPD Arrests Two for Narcotics Violations
On Sunday, June 10, 2018, at approximately 2:15am, a Hope Mills Police Officer stopped a Blue 1999 Lexus in the parking lot of Smithfield’s Barbecue for displaying a fictitious registration plate. During contact with the occupants of the vehicle, later identified as Marcus Lujuan Small, 29 of the 4600 block of Desert Ridge Road, Parkton, and April Amelia Seidel, 27 of the 140 block of Lowery Road, Shannon, the Officer developed information that led him to believe that illegal narcotics were present inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the Officer located approximately 1.5 ounces of methamphetamine and a pistol within a hidden compartment inside the vehicle. The Officer also located paraphernalia associated with the sale of illegal narcotics during the course of his search as well. Following the vehicle search, both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where they were jailed for the following charges:

1 Felony Count of Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine
1 Felony Count of Possession of a Firearm
1 Misdemeanor Count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Mr. Small was also served with outstanding warrants from Fayetteville Police Department for Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods.
