Madison Co. EMA Update to Siren Test Schedule
Media Release
Date: June 19, 2018
From: Jeffrey Birdwell, Director
Subject: Outdoor Siren System Test Schedule
The Huntsville – Madison County Emergency Management Agency will be making a permanent change to the schedule for testing the Outdoor Warning Siren System. The sirens will be tested on the first Wednesday of the month as usual, however, should the test be cancelled due to inclement weather, the test will be scheduled for the following (second) Wednesday at noon. In the event that the second Wednesday is also an inclement weather day, the test of the siren system will be conducted on the first Wednesday of the following month as normal.
The change to the policy was made in order to accommodate an alternate test day. Please note that this policy in no way makes changes to siren tests conducted in the Huntsville or Madison City Limits within Limestone County. Those sirens will still be tested on the second Monday morning of the month by Limestone County Emergency Management.
For any questions, please contact Jeffrey Birdwell, Director, at 256-427-5130. Please make this information available to your readers, viewers, and listeners.
