SUSPECT VEHICLE: White 1996 Pontiac Firebird coupe
On June 13, 2018, at approximately 7:37 a.m., a Milpitas police officer saw a white 1996 Pontiac Firebird leave the parking lot of the Great Mall of the Bay Area and tried to stop it for expired registration. The driver fled from the officer at a high rate of speed but was stuck in traffic on Great Mall Parkway. The driver, Michael Jennings, eventually pulled over on South Main Street and was arrested. He had a suspended driver license and an active arrest warrant for automobile theft from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, so he was booked into the Santa Clara County jail for evading police, driving on a suspended driver license, and the warrant. The passenger, Eric Elbeck, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
