Subject: Hamilton Place Shots Fired Incident
***UPDATED INFORMATION June 21, 2018 AT 8:00AM***
Early this morning, Sun Prairie police officers arrested a 16-year-old male from Sun Prairie in connection to this shooting. He was transferred to the Dane County Juvenile Detention Center and is tentatively being charged with one count of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. A handgun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered by police. This continues to be an active investigation and more details will be made available when they are able to be released.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Tonight at approximately 7:10 PM, Sun Prairie Police officers were dispatched to the parking lot area of the 1300 building of the Hamilton Place Apartments for a report of gunshots fired. Sun Prairie Police can confirm gunshots were fired and it appears to be a targeted shooting and not a random act. The targeted victim was not injured and no suspects are in custody at this time. This continues to be an active investigation and more details will be made available when they are able to be released.
