Recently Whitefish Bay and neighboring communities have been experiencing a rash of overnight entry to unlocked vehicles and residences. Investigation has revealed the actor(s) involved in these crimes are targeting easily accessible valuables inside vehicles and unlocked homes. On 6/23 subjects in the 6200 block of N. Bay Ridge entered an unlocked residence and located keys to three vehicles in a purse. Ultimately taking two vehicles from that residence as well as a third vehicle from another location in the Village. These are crimes of opportunity, resident provided surveillance footage has shown when these thieves encounter locked vehicles they simply move on until they find an unlocked vehicle. Please lock your vehicles and residences and do not leave keys in your vehicle. Whitefish Bay Police need the communities help to solve these crimes, Call 911 immediately to report suspicious activity.
