On June 23, 2018 at about 9:00 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 Block of Oak Street for a possible domestic disturbance. A female called 911 and left the line open. SPPD dispatchers could hear a female screaming, “Don’t touch me!” and “Get away from me!” As the first officer arrived on scene, he could also hear the female screaming. He looked through the window and saw a male holding and waving a knife toward a female who was visibly upset. The officer ordered the male to drop the knife and detained him when additional officers arrived.

Based on visible injuries to the female and what the initial officer observed, the male, who was identified as 29 year old Marquis Harmon of Oakland, CA was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
