Courts will not notify you by text or email of an outstanding Warrant
The Northfield Township Police reminds our community members that neither our local courts nor our Federal Courts will notify you by text or email of an outstanding warrant. If a warrant has been issued for your arrest; you will be notified by U.S mail and given the opportunity to turn yourself in to the jurisdiction holding the warrant. At no time will you be asked to wire money, or pay a bond or fine through the internet. If you should get a call, text or email from someone representing themselves as an officer, know that no police department will ever contact you to pay a fine over the phone or through western union.
Should you receive an email or text advising you that you have a warrant, DO NOT open the email and NEVER respond to any email or text questions. If you are uncomfortable about the correspondence and think you may have an outstanding warrant, contact the police or court agency directly to clear up matters.
