Ripon Police Department reports recent activity
Department Activity:
On Friday, at 7:45 AM, Officer Kyle Prather responded to the Stanislaus County Jail and took custody of a subject, identified as Kevin Atkinson (56 years of Modesto). He was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Ripon Police Department. He was transported and booked into San Joaquin County Jail.
On Friday, at 7:09 PM, officers responded to the 1500 block of Denise Dr. regarding a disturbance. On arrival, Officer Gordon West made contact with a subject, identified as Darian Kiser (22 years of Ripon). He was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
On Friday, at 9:02 PM, FTO Carlos Gutierrez conducted a bicycle stop at W. Ripon Rd. and Ruess Rd. The subject, identified as Alfonso Arenas (46 years of Valley Springs), was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself. He was taken into custody for public intoxication and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
On Saturday, at 12:07 PM, officers responded to the Stanislaus River area on a report of illegal camping. FTO Kenneth Husman made contact with the subject, identified as Taylor Coss (36 years of Ripon), whom had set up an illegal camp near the river. He was cited and released at the scene.
On Saturday, at 11:06 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1700 block of Ruth Dr. regarding a disturbance. On arrival, officers took a female subject (30 years of Ripon) into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local mental health facility.
On Sunday, at 8:00 AM, officers responded to 1501 N. Jack Tone Rd. regarding a suspicious person. On arrival, Officer Alex Contreras made contact with the subject, identified as Lacey Baldwin (35 years of Modesto). She was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for herself. She was taken into custody for public intoxication and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
On Sunday, at 12:32 PM, Officer Alex Contreras responded to the Stanislaus County Jail and took custody of a subject, identified as Viliami Namomo (29 years of Ceres). He was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Ripon Police Department. He was transported and booked into San Joaquin County Jail.
On Sunday, at 7:45 PM, officers responded to the 400 block of Ripona Ave. regarding a subject making threats towards another person. On arrival, FTO Paul Rourick discovered that multiple windows were shattered on two vehicles. In addition, the responsible subject, identified as Edgar Verduzco (26 years of Ripon), was determined to have brandished a knife and approached the victim in a threatening manner. He was taken into custody and booked into San Joaquin County Jail for vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon.
