#014 Under the Influence of Drugs

At 9:58 a.m., Officer Burns on-viewed a male chasing a female down the middle of the Street on Country Dr. near Lexington.  He arrested the 35 year old adult male for being under the influence of drugs.  Coincidentally the male had been arrested the day prior for the same offense. 

Battery/Resisting Arrest

Several officers were dispatched to BART to investigate the battery of a bus driver.  Officer Taylor located the suspect who immediately fled on a bicycle into the Presidio Apartments.  Numerous units checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  He was described as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, wearing a white T-shirt with red skulls, and blue jeans.

Trespassing

A local hospital called to report a transient male on the property who had been discharged from the ER but refusing to leave.  The male left prior to officers arriving on the scene.

Trespassing

The manager of BBVA Bank in the 39300 block of Fremont Blvd called to report a homeless male with a box sleeping in front of the entrance and refusing to leave.  Officers arrived and the male left the area. 

#035 DUI Arrest

Officer Oliveira and Officer Robinson were paired up working drunk driving suppression.  At 9:51 p.m., they on-viewed a vehicle driving northbound on Boscell Rd., with a non-operational headlight.  They conducted an enforcement stop on the white Lexus. Following a field sobriety test, the 32 year old adult female driver was arrested for DUI.  

#002 Stolen Vehicle Arrest

Officer Lastrape located a stolen Mercedes at I680 and Mission Blvd.  He followed the vehicle into Livermore before additional units could catch up to assist.  Officer Lastrape initiated the stop at Hwy 84 and Kalthoff Common and the two occupants were taken into custody without incident. 

#004 Armed Robbery w/ Shots Fired

Officers responded to an armed robbery at the 7-11 located at Mowry and Blacow in which the suspect fired one round inside the store.  The suspect fled eastbound from the store and was not located after a K9/UAV and general search of the area.  Video obtained from nearby showed that the suspect might have fled on a motorcycle parked in the lot.  The suspect is described as a tall light skinned male in his thirties wearing blue jean and a black jacket with something covering his face.  He was armed with a hand gun.  A casing was recovered at the scene.

#013 Unattended Death Investigation

Officers responded to the 36900 block of Mission Blvd on the report that a female tenant had not been seen in several days.  Officers arrived and found the female deceased inside her room.  Nothing suspicious was noted and the incident was documented.

#016 Unattended Death

At 10:20 a.m., PD Dispatch received a call from a contracted company responsible for providing uniformed security at a City owned facility in the 39100 block of Liberty Street.  The representative from the security company requested the police department respond and attempt to locate one of the uniformed security officers as he had not returned to their headquarters upon completion of his assigned shift, and they were unable to get in touch with him via radio or telephone.  Officers responded and located a locked room, but could not access it.  Fremont Fire had also responded and assisted by breaching the door.  When the door opened, the male was located inside deceased.  There was no sign of foul play or of a crime.  The Alameda County Coroner responded and is investigating the cause of death.

#009 Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Officer Maniego, FTO Koehler, and Officer Kennedy were dispatched to an assault with a deadly weapon at a restaurant located in the 36800 block of Fremont Blvd.  An employee called 911 to report a homeless subject entered the restaurant and hit an employee with a tree branch.  The suspect, a 24 year old adult male, was located at a nearby restaurant and arrested without incident. 

#021 Auto Burglary/Brandishing a Firearm

At 3:26 p.m., a window smash auto burglary was reported in the parking lot of Charter Square (34100 block of Fremont Blvd).  The victim reported the suspect used a gun to shatter the rear window.  The suspect brandished the firearm at the victim.  The suspect fled in a black BMW 750 with a plate ending in 665.  Case investigated by Officer Lobue.

#023 Outside Assist - Medial Call

At 4:04 p.m., officers responded to a possible drowning at an apartment complex in the 36000 block of Fremont Blvd.  A 3 year old male was found in face down in the pool.  A good Samaritan noticed the child and with the assistance of a second good Samaritan they quickly react and start CPR.  Their efforts are successful in helping the boy to begin breathing.  Officers arrive and monitor the child until Fremont Fire takes over.    Based on surveillance footage, the child had an accident and fell when entering the pool.  The child was transported to a trauma center for treatment.

 

#002 DUI Arrest

At 12:18 a.m., Officer Dubowy responded to a be on the lookout call for a vehicle driving in the 40600 block of Fremont Blvd., hitting curbs.  Officers locate the white Toyota truck in a parking lot and attempt a traffic stop.  The vehicle came to a stop and the driver put the car in reverse.  Officers asked the driver to put the vehicle in park, however he refused to comply.  Additional officers at the scene approached the vehicle and removed the driver.  The 31 year old adult male driver was arrested for DUI.  

#037 Resisting, Assault on an Officer and Public Intoxication

Officers responded to a fight between multiple parties at the Niles Plaza.  Upon the arrival of the first officer, one of the combatants, a 20 year old transient, decided to confront the officer.  When the officer parked his vehicle, the suspect began to approach the patrol car.  The officer ordered him to stop.  The suspect continued to look straight at the officer and approach with his hands clenched into fists.   The suspect was taken to the ground by assisting officers and placed in handcuffs.  The suspect continued to struggle making it necessary to place him in the WRAP.  He was transported to Santa Rita and booked on charges of resisting an officer, assault on an officer, battery on emergency personnel and public intoxication.

#024 Obstructing an Executive Order, Battery on a Police Officer and Vandalism

At 1:11 p.m. officers respond to a hotel in the 5400 block of Mowry Ave on the report of a disturbance with a guest.  The caller stated the male was damaging property in his hotel room and causing a disturbance in the lobby.  The caller also told dispatchers he appeared under the influence and there was blood visible on the door to his room and they weren’t sure if he had hurt himself.  Officers respond and contact the 36 year old adult male, Newark resident, in the lobby. The male begins to fight and resist officers.  Additional officers are summoned after Taser last are ineffective.  As additional officers arrive, they find the initial responding officers in a struggle on the floor and police equipment and gear all around the floor. The subject who is naked and bloody, exhibited great strength and appeared to possibly be under the influence.  He screamed, bit and fought during the entire contact.  After multiple officers are on-scene they are able to handcuff and place the male in a spit hood and WRAP.   The male caused significant damage to his room and was arrested for obstructing an executive order, felony battery on a police officer and felony vandalism.  The male was transported to a hospital. Two officers were also admitted to the emergency room and later released to full duty.  Several officers were exposed to the subject’s blood.

#032 Carrying a Concealed Dirk/Dagger and Petty Theft

At 6:11 p.m., officers respond to the area of Thornton Ave and I880 regarding a male who brandished a knife at a vehicle passing by him.  Officer Paiva locates the male, a 37 year old adult male transient, on Dusterberry at Hansen.  Officer Paiva finds a large knife on the male and arrests him for being in possession of a dirk/dagger.  The male is also identified as a suspect in a theft from Bobs Discount Liquor on Thornton.  Case investigated by Officer Paiva.

#040 Robbery

Officers were dispatched to the area of the 39300 block of Fremont Blvd for a robbery report.  A male was walking home when he was approached by three subjects.  Two were described as black males in their 20’s or 30’s.  The third subject’s race is unknown.  One suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and the others relieved him of his iPhone 8, a back pack, his US Passport, his medicinal marijuana card and other identifying documents.  An attempt was made to locate the iPhone but it was completely powered off.  Officer Blanchett is investigating.
