West Covina Police Officers Recover Computers Stolen from Elementary School.

DATE OF RELEASE: June 26, 2018

On 06/25/18 at approximately 6:30 am West Covina Police officers conducted a burglary investigation at Merlinda Elementary School, 1120 South Valinda Avenue. The computer lab had been burglarized and numerous laptop computers were stolen. Officers recovered forensic evidence from the crime scene that matched to a local juvenile (male, 16 years of age, resident of West Covina). West Covina detectives obtained a search warrant in an effort to locate the stolen property. On 06/26/18 the search warrant was served on the 900 Block of Francisquito Avenue, West Covina. Detectives arrested the male juvenile for burglary and recovered all of the stolen computers. The male juvenile was booked and then released to his parents. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in the near future.
