Brush Collection Up Date, Please see the Township website for more information.

The Township continues to collect tree parts and debris that has been left curbside due to the multiple storms in March. The Township is utilizing all available resources to collect brush and tree parts.

The Township made a responsible decision to perform in-house collections until additional funding could be identified to bring in assistance. Township Officials could not have prepared for this costly endeavor. After following the bid process for hiring a contractor, we brought a contractor in to assist with this removal. Since April, we have removed more than 25,000 cubic yards of storm debris from the street. We are estimating that almost 40,000 cubic yards of storm debris will be removed by the time we finish collections.

To date, crews have completed the following areas:

All of Zone 4
All of Zone 3 with the exception of Headwater Village, the Stokes Road corridor, and Medford Pines
All of Zone 2 with the exception of Nelson Drive and Jackson Road

Township crews are working as many daylight hours as possible, including Saturdays, to assist in this effort. Crews continue to work in Zone 3 and Zone 2 to get these Zones completed before moving into Zone 1 and Zone 5. The contractor is working in Zone 1 and is focused on subdivisions and neighborhoods. The Contractor will continue to remove storm debris until his contract is fulfilled.

Residents who have brush and tree parts should place the material within the right-of-way in front of their homes. Brush piles should be placed neatly out of the roadway and out of the lane of travel. Brush piles should not restrict visibility or impede traffic in any way.

Material should only contain vegetative debris and be free of all lumber, fence posts, and other wooden objects. Material should not be placed near mailboxes, fire hydrants, or utility boxes. Branches and limbs should be cut in lengths no longer than eight (8) feet. Larger tree trunks should be cut in lengths that are three (3) feet or less. Material larger than ten (10) inches in diameter and tree stumps cannot be collected.

Residents who cannot wait for a roadside collection may also bring their material to the DPW yard any Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 2 pm. The yard is also open on the third Saturday of each month from 8 am to 1 pm. Saturday hours include July 7th, and July 21st. Additional Saturday dates and information regarding Brush Collection can be found on our website www.medfordtownship.com.

Once all material is collected, crews will prepare for one final pass of each Zone according to the Summer/Fall collection schedule distributed early in 2018. If you have any questions, please call the Neighborhood Services office at 609-654-6791, extensions 316 and 322. We apologize for the lengthy delay but appreciate your patience and consideration.
