Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 6/26/18, and Wednesday, 6/27/18.

6/26/18

-FM 1585 at Gusher Rd, Levelland: Grass Fire. Deputies responded to a reported grass fire in the area and provided traffic control while Levelland Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire. Deputies assisted as needed and the fire was extinguished.

-Hwy 114 near FM 168, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash in the area. DPS arrived and conducted the investigation. Deputies assisted as needed with traffic control.

6/27/18

-300 blk Avenue I, Levelland: Warrant Service. Deputies located an individual wanted related to a felony warrant. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Hockley County Detention Center without incident.

-2600 blk Robert Lee, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to check the welfare of dogs on the property. The welfare was checked and the dogs were in good health.

-600 blk Justin Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to a reported loose horse in the area. The horse was secured.

-6300 blk US 84, Anton: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle stopped along the roadway. While en route to the location the deputy was notified the vehicle had been moved from the area.

-W. Ellis at Avenue K, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to locate a vehicle stopped in the area. The vehicle was located and the driver was having vehicle issues. No offenses were reported or observed and the vehicle left the area.

-2800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of a loose horse on N. Hwy 385. The horse was located and was secured by owners.

-6000 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a suspicious vehicle stopped along the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-100 blk Lacy Ln, Opdyke: Juvenile Complaint. Deputies responded to a complaint involving a juvenile. No offenses were reported and the juvenile was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

-Hwy 114 at FM 3261, Levelland: Check Welfare. Deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a juvenile walking along the roadway in the area. The area was checked and no one was located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 0800 hours on 6/28/18: 51 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, and 24 out of county.
