Burglary/Theft of Property Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona woman has been arrested in connection to burglary and theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Crystal Kay Chumley, 36, of Altoona, was arrested and charged with one count of third degree burglary and one count of first degree theft of property, both are felonies,” Lt. Robin Grant said.

Chumley allegedly broke into a residence on Mayo Road, and stole several firearms, knives, watches, cash and collectible coins. She was living at a campsite area in the woods, located near the residence, when the burglary occurred.

Deputies Lucero and McGowan assisted Lt. Grant in the search for the suspect and stolen property.

Chumley is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond for the burglary and theft charges. She also faces multiple drug charges.
