Criminal Activity Alert - Burglaries & Attempts - Always Use Alarm Systems-
Last night Saddle River patrol units were dispatched to an activated burglar alarm in the High Ridge section of S.R.. Upon arrival they observed the locked front door to the residence had been forced open, triggering the alarm. While investigating and canvassing the area, Officers discovered the residence across the street was also forcibly entered and burglarized. The burglar alarm in this home was not set, allowing these actors more time to search the residence for valuables.
Upper Saddle River Police were investigating a very similar incident during this same time.
There has been a rise in residential burglaries and attempts in Bergen County during the evening hours. The suspect/s are entering mainly through doors that are kicked in or pried open. Make sure you secure your residence when no one is home and secure your doors. If you have an alarm system MAKE SURE YOU ACTIVATE IT, even if you’re just running out for a few minutes. Security cameras are a great tool. Check your system now to make sure its functioning properly before an incident may happen. Online ordering has resulted in packages being delivered late into the evening. Remove these packages as soon as possible to prevent your home from being targeted as appearing unoccupied.
