HMPD Arrests Man on Felony Narcotics Charges 
On Friday, June 29, 2018 at approximately 10:30pm, a Hope Mills Police Officer performed a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado in the area of Hope Mills Road and Cumberland Road for displaying a fictitious registration plate on the vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle, the Officer made contact with the driver, later identified as Mitchell Stanley Skowron, 52, of the 5400 block of Palm Circle, Fayetteville. During the Officer’s contact with Skowron, he observed Skowron attempt to conceal an item within the vehicle. When the Officer retrieved the item from the vehicle, he found the item to be a pill bottle containing bindles of heroin and methamphetamine packaged for sale. After locating the narcotics, Skowron was arrested, and transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed for the following offenses:
1 Felony Count of Possession of Heroin With Intent to Sell and Deliver
1 Felony Count of Possession of Methamphetamine
1 Misdemeanor Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
