On June 26, 2018, the Turlock Police Department took a runaway report of a missing 16 year old girl. The father, Stephen Gemperle (custodial parent), reported that he had last seen his daughter at their Turlock home in the early morning hours on June 26, 2018. He reported some personal items missing and was concerned this was connected to a custody case.

The facts did not meet the requirements of an Amber Alert, however, our investigations team put out a nationwide alert identifying the teenager and request to contact us immediately if located.

Today, at 3:45 pm, we were notified by law enforcement in the state of Nevada that the teenager was last seen in Winnemucca, NV, at a fast food restaurant in the company of an adult female. We coordinated with Nevada law enforcement in that area and at approximately 5:00 pm today, Nevada Highway Patrol in Elko, NV, spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop on the vehicle. The missing juvenile was located in the company of the adult woman/driver identified as Kathleen Hoskins (biological mother). The teenager is safe and in the protective custody of law enforcement. The father has been notified and is on his way to pick up his daughter.

Our investigation is continuing as we have additional information and evidence to process which may lead to criminal charges against Kathleen Hoskins.
