Mountain lion sighted on Dutton Ave in Sebastopol
On Friday, June 29th, at approximately 6 AM, a resident on Dutton Avenue reported seeing a mountain lion in the backyard. The feline then climbed over the fence toward Florence Avenue. Officers responded to the area, but did not locate the animal. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified.
If you suspect that a mountain lion is near or about your area, please do not attempt to confront it yourself. Contact your local police department or sheriff's office; animal control, or the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
