Crime Alert - Update
Attention Rutgers Community:
The Rutgers University Police Department issued a crime alert on July 3, 2018, in reference to a sexual assault and an aggravated assault which was reported to have occurred on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at approximately 5:27 PM at the intersection of Abeel Street and Elijah’s Way, located in the City of New Brunswick. On July 4, 2018, at approximately 1:15 AM, Rutgers Police Officers located and arrested the suspect wanted in this incident.
Frank Ferraro, 26 years old, of 143 Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick, New Jersey, has been charged in this incident and remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to contact the Rutgers Police Detective Bureau at 732-932-8025.
The Rutgers University Police Department reminds you that you can reduce your chances of being a crime victim by taking reasonable precautions, including:
• Immediately reporting suspicious activity to local law enforcement;
• Remaining alert and aware of the people and circumstances around you;
• Avoid isolated or dark areas;
• Walking in groups when traveling during late night hours
