Morgan Hill Armed Robbery - Suspect Arrested
On Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at about 11:00pm, an 18-year-old male and his 18-year-old female passenger parked their vehicle along Cochrane Road near the Cochrane Village Apartments located at 18555 Butterfield Blvd.
Before they could exit the vehicle, a male suspect, later identified as Jorge Mendoza (19) of Morgan Hill, approached the passenger side of the vehicle and pressed a handgun to the female passenger’s head and demanded money. The driver gave Mendoza all the money in his wallet. Mendoza then fled the area on foot.
At about 11:40pm a second caller reported a suspect matching Mendoza’s description brandished a handgun at her in the area of Cochrane Rd and Monterey Rd and was last seen in a nearby field. Officers searched the field and located Mendoza who was identified by several witnesses as the offender in both incidents. A replica firearm was located nearby.
Mendoza was arrested for Armed Robbery and Brandishing a Replica Firearm and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
