Alameda District Water Outage
Residents and business in the following areas will experience a water outage for four hours beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 12, for a water main tie-in: Brownlee Avenue from 3rd Street to 6th Street; 4th Street from Hadley Avenue to Van Patten Avenue; 3th Street from Hadley Avenue to McFie Avenue; McFie Avenue from 2nd Street to 6th Street; 5th Street from Van Patten Avenue to Brownlee Avenue and 5th Street from Hadley Avenue to McFie Avenue. Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage.
Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, flush all faucets for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance.
