On Saturday, July 14th, 2018, at 6:30AM, Kerstetter Way will be closed in preparation for the 2018 Kerstetter 5K and Family Walk. Kerstetter Way will close between West Avenue and Broad Street. Merchant’s Alley will also be closed between Washington Avenue and Kerstetter Way.
At 7:45AM, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
• Broad Street between Court Street and East Avenue
• Middle Avenue between Broad Street and 2nd Street
• Washington Avenue between Broad Street and Harrison Street
• Depot Street between Washington Avenue and East Avenue
• Harrison Street between Washington Avenue and Glenwood Avenue
• Glenwood Avenue between Harrison Avenue and Washington Avenue
There will be no thru traffic. Local traffic will be maintained, but traffic should expect delays.
At 8:00am the walkers will begin a one mile walk from Kerstetter Way, down Washington Avenue and back.
At 8:30am the Kerstetter 5K Race begins for the runners.
The race course route is:
o Kerstetter Way South then east on to Broad Street
o Then left onto Washington Avenue and continue north
o Turning right onto Harrison Street and go east
o Then turn left onto Glenwood Avenue continuing north
o To the end and turn right and run north on Washington
o To Elywood Drive where a barrel directs the runners to turn-a-round and repeat the course back to Elyria Police Department.
This event should last approximately one hour and 45 minutes. Elyria Police Auxiliary will assist in traffic control and the safety of the runners.
