Crimes Against Children Detectives arrest David Winter for possession of child pornography

SUSPECT: David Winter, a 54-year- old male resident of Running Springs
VlCTIMS: None identified at this time
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, investigators from the Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC), began an investigation into a cyber tip that was reported by an Electronic Service Provider (ESP). The tip contained images of child pornography. Through investigation, investigators determined the ESP account belonged to the suspect, David Winter.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 7:00 am, detectives and deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Detail (SED) contacted Winter in the 31000 block of Easy Street, in Running Springs. An interview with Winter was conducted and at the conclusion of the investigation, Winter was arrested for possession of child pornography. Winter was subsequently booked into West Valley Detention Center and bail was set at $25,000.
