On July 19, 2018, at 1:50 James Michael Hicks Jr., an inmate at the Giles County Jail was off from a litter pick up crew on South Ridge Rd in Southern Giles County. Hicks is serving time for various drug charges and an aggravated assault. Hicks is 30 years old and is 6’3” tall and weighs 160 pounds. If Hicks is seen, please call 911 or the Giles County Sheriff’s Department at 931-363-3505. He was wearing an orange jail jumpsuit when he went into the woods. The Sheriff’s Department has deployed additional officers to the area, and the manhunt is underway. A warrant for escape has been issued for Hicks.
