On July 20, 2018, at approximately 12:03 a.m. James Michael Hicks Jr. was taken into custody after an extensive search that spanned Giles and Lincoln Counties. Hicks was re-arrested in Frankewing near Exit 14. Sheriff Helton would like to commend his officers and thank Limestone County Alabama Sheriff’s Office, The U.S. Marshall Service, Minor Hill Police Department, TN Wildlife Resources Agency – K9, TN Parks Service - K-9, and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department for their invaluable assistance in the search for the escaped inmate.
