Wildland Fire Information UPDATE

07/23/18 4:04pm-Below is an UPDATE from the City of Milpitas regarding yesterday’s wildland fire.

Follow the City of Milpitas social media accounts and/or website for additional updates and information.

PLEASE NOTE the listed road closures/restrictions within the update.

“Foothills Wildland Fire Update #3

The wildland Fire Incident in the Santa Clara County Foothills behind Ed Levin Park is currently 80% contained with minimal structural damage. The South Bay Incident Management Team continues to monitor and reinforce the fire line, and actively manage the situation. The City of Milpitas is continuing to support the Incident with one Fire company.

Please note that Weller Rd. and Downing Rd. are currently closed to all non-emergency vehicular traffic, and all pedestrian traffic.

The City’s website and social media pages will continue to provide updates if there are any significant changes. If you have an emergency please call 911.”




07/22/18 7:35pm-Below is an UPDATE from the City of Milpitas regarding today’s wildland fire.

“Foothills Wildland Fire Update #2

The wildland Fire Incident in the Santa Clara County Foothills behind Ed Levin Park is currently 40% contained with minimal structural damage

Due to the successful cooperation between multiple agencies, the South Bay Incident Management Team will continue to monitor and reinforce the fire line, and actively manage the situation through the night and into tomorrow.

The City of Milpitas is continuing to support the Incident with two Fire companies. The source of the fire will be investigated by Cal Fire and the Milpitas Fire Department.

The City’s website and social media pages will continue to provide updates if there are any significant changes.”
