(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona man has been arrested in connection to electronic solicitation of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Peter Steven Ellis, 18, of Altoona, was arrested on July 20, and charged electronic solicitation of a child, which is a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

Ellis allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to an 11 year-old female via text (sexting) over the period of several months. A family member saw the text messages, from Ellis to the 11 year-old female, and called 9-1-1.

Ellis was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond.
