Attempted Armed Robbery

On Monday, July 23, 2018 at 4:21pm Absecon patrol units responded to a residence on Chelsea Road for a report of an attempted armed robbery. The investigation revealed that at approximately 2:45pm a teenage juvenile was approached in his driveway by a male who brandished a closed folding pocket knife towards the victim. The juvenile was able to spray the male in the face with the power washer he was using and the male fled on foot through neighboring yards west towards Ritz Drive. The accused male is described as a white male with a medium build, clean shaven, in his early twenties, approximately 5’ 10” tall and was wearing a dark colored (possibly dark grey) hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, and dark colored long shorts or pants. Absecon units with the assistance of the Galloway Township Police Department checked the area but were unable to locate the subject.

It is believed that at approximately 6:00pm that same day a subject matching that description was seen in the area of the Field of Dreams off of 10th Avenue. That sighting was later reported to the police department.
