Press Release: Assault with Deadly Weapon

VICTIM: 43 year-old male, Milpitas resident
SUSPECT: Luis Edward Sanchez, 33 year-old, Fremont resident
On Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at approximately 3:07 AM, Milpitas Police officers responded to the 76 Gas Station, located at 27 South Park Victoria Drive, for a report of a man screaming and bleeding from a head injury. Officers arrived at the gas station, within a minute, and located a 43 year-old man suffering from a puncture wound to his face area. The victim stated he was involved in a verbal dispute with a Hispanic male when he suddenly attacked him with an edged weapon. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Luis Edward Sanchez, who is currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) probation out of Santa Clara County for domestic violence and battery. Officers searched the area for Luis Sanchez, but they could not locate him.
On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at approximately 12:15 PM, Milpitas Police detectives contacted Luis Sanchez in San Jose and arrested him without incident. After interviewing Luis Sanchez, the detectives booked him into the Santa Clara County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
