Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 7/25/18, and Thursday, 7/26/18.

7/25/18

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a request for a civil standby at a residence on Elephant Rd. The individual advised he would call when he was en route to the residence. No calls were received to assist.

-400 blk Reed, Whitharral: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to a residential alarm in the area. The property was checked and it was determined to be a false alarm. No offenses were observed or reported.

-2100 blk Hummingbird Rd, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported verbal disturbance at a residence in the area. No offenses were reported and parties were separated.

7/26/18

-500 blk Reed, Whitharral: Alarm. Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence in the area. It was determined to be a false alarm.

-800 blk Nightingale, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in the area. On scene the deputy discovered a stolen license plate on a vehicle driven by the individual. During the investigation, the individual reportedly provided false information, and was later arrested for Failure to Identify. The individual was transported to the Detention Center without incident.

-US 62/82 at Terry Co. Line: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle crash along the highway. It was determined to be in Terry County.

-1800 blk 9th St, Levelland: Assist Agency. Deputies assisted other agencies with a warrant at a residence in the area. Multiple individuals were arrested and transported to the Detention Center without incident and booked on multiple charges.

-1200 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a local business. The property was checked and found to be secure. No offenses were observed or reported.

-100 blk Ellwood, Ropesville: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. The resident reported another individual pushed him out of bed and left the scene prior to arrival of deputies. The caller declined to pursue charges, however was arrested for an active warrant. The individual was transported to the detention center and released into the custody of jail personnel.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow up activities.

Jail population as of 7/27/18 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 7 to be processed, 46 out of county.
