One injured in two vehicle crash



Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his deputies were dispatched to a personal injury accident at US 12 Highway and Calvin Center on 07/28/18 at approximately 2030 hours in Mason Twp, Cass County, MI. Investigation shows that a motorcycle driven by Casey Madden (31 year old, resident of Elkhart, IN) was driving east bound on US 12 near Simmons mobile home park and continued to Calvin Center. At that point another vehicle was turning left to go northbound on Calvin Center and a third vehicle was turning right into a private driveway when Madden had struck the passenger side of that vehicle turning into the driveway. Madden was thrown from the motorcycle and over that vehicle, landing in a yard. Madden was transported by Edwardsburg Ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor. Investigation shows that Madden was travelling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. A helmet was not worn.

This crash is still under investigation.
