Flash Flood Watch until 04:00AM Wednesday
The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Michigan, including the following areas, Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne.
* Until 4 AM EDT Wednesday.
* Bands of heavy rainfall are expected to continue to develop this evening and into tonight as an area of low pressure moves northeast into southwestern Ontario. Thunderstorms will also be possible further exacerbating the potential flash flooding threat. Rainfall rates will be heavy to intense at times where banding persists the longest. Where the heaviest rainfall occurs, totals of 1-3 inches will be possible, with locally higher amounts of 3-5 inches possible. The heaviest rainfall will occur between 8pm and midnight.
* Urban, low lying and poor drainage areas prone to flash flooding will be most susceptible, particularly in the greater Detroit metro. Additional rapid rises on area rivers, streams and creaks will be possible.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MACOMB ... WASHTENAW ... WAYNE ... LENAWEE ... OAKLAND ... ST. CLAIR ... MONROE
