Good Wednesday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 7/31/18.

-Hwy 114 at Lovebird Rd, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist on the scene of a vehicle crash in the area. Deputies assisted as needed as a trooper conducted the crash investigation.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a complaint of debris on the roadway. The area was checked and no traffic obstructions were located.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy was notified of a complaint related to a television taken from a truck. The company retrieved the television and declined to pursue charges on the individual.

-US Hwy 84 near FM 2130, Anton: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a complaint of a vehicle running over a pipe that fell from another vehicle. Remedies were advised to the driver on filing the appropriate reports.

-3600 blk FM 301, Sundown: Animal Complaint. A deputy completed a report related to a dog attacking livestock in the area. Information was collected from the complainant and the matter is under investigation.

-1000 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Robbery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a juvenile possibly breaking into vehicles in the area. A juvenile was taken into custody following an investigation into a reported robbery offense. Evidence, and alleged stolen property, was recovered and no other information will be available due to the arrestee being a juvenile.

-Hwy 385 at Justin Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate loose horses. A horse was located and later secured.

-Hwy 385 at FM 2306, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to a complaint of a reckless driver northbound on the highway toward Whitharral. The highway was checked to the Lamb County line and the vehicle was not located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 0800 hours on 8/1/18: 59 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 39 out of county.
